FAQ's
Using a registered office service offers significant advantages, particularly for overseas companies or directors working from home. It keeps your personal or residential address seperate from your company address, protecting your privacy. It also boosts your company’s credibility with a prestigious Dublin city centre location and ensures you never miss important legal documents or regulatory notices. Additionally, we provide document scanning, mail forwarding, and courier handling, saving you time and hassle.
Changing your registered office address is possible at any time, but it's crucial to notify the Companies Registration Office (CRO) immediately to stay compliant. If you're using our service and decide to move your registered office elsewhere, we can assist with the change of address filing to ensure a smooth transition and will continue forwarding your post for a limited time.
Under the Companies Act 2014, it is mandatory for all companies registered in Ireland to maintain a registered office address. Failure to maintain an up-to-date registered office address can lead to serious consequences including penalties, loss of good standing, or involuntary strike-off from the register. It may also cause delays in receiving legal notices, which can result in missed deadlines or judgments entered in default.
Technically, yes: if the address is a real, staffed premises and permission is granted. However, many virtual office providers only offer mailboxes or P.O boxes, which do not meet CRO requirements. Our address at The Black Church, Dublin 7, is a recognised business premises accepted by the CRO, Revenue, and other Irish authorities. This ensures compliance and avoids delays or rejection of filings.
Please note that the registered office address may not be enough to satisfy Revenue requirements for VAT registration. In this instance a co-working space may be beneficial for trading address purposes. For further advice on this please contact us.
