Directors of Irish Limited Companies are required by law to apply for and obtain a Personal Public Service (PPS) number.
Company Bureau can assist your company officers and apply for a PPS number on your behalf in the quickest possible timeframe. A PPS number is a national identification number for taxation and other purposes, comparable to a Social Security number. Previously the PPS number was known as the Pay-Related Social Insurance (PRSI) number. A PPS number is always 7 numbers followed by either one or two letters.
Please note this service is for non-Irish residents only. We cannot assist with PPS number applications for Irish residents. In this instance, you must contact the Department of Social Protection directly.
A PPS number is required for proprietary directors and/or persons in receipt of Irish income.
