Limited Company Name Reservations Now Available!

Company Bureau is pleased to announce that limited company name reservations are now available for Irish Companies from the Companies Registration Office (CRO)

RCN Certificate for Company Name Reservations

The CRO will issue successful applications with a RCN Certificate which is valid for 28 days. The company formation application should be made within this 28 day period to ensure the Irish company is incorporated with the preferred name. Should this lapse, it can be extended by another 28 days for an additional fee. Applications that are refused can be re-submitted free of charge within 28 days.

Company Name Reservations can be applied for through Company Bureau, or directly through the Companies Registration Office.

We would, however, like to point out that reserving a name may actually delay the incorporation of the company, as it will take up to 5 working days for name reservation to be approved (in addition to the usual incorporation time) With this in mind, we would suggest only using this service in exceptional circumstances, e.g. where a client fears the name might be taken by a competitor, etc.

Digital Registration Certificates for Business Names and Limited Companies

The Companies Registration Office are also now issuing auto-signed high-security certificates for company Certificates of Incorporation and Business Name Certificates.

The digital certificates contain a coloured banner at the top of the screen to confirm that is has been digitally signed as certified by the CRO. This provides assurance to the recipient that the document is authentic and has not been tampered with. The format of and details contained in the Certificate will not change.
